Hidden behind the gates of an ancient hillside in Northern Spain, lie centuries of secrets waiting to be revealed.
This Rioja unravels gently into a lingering experience of deep red berries, tobacco, and cedar juxtaposed with bright acidity and a velvety yet haunting finish.
WINE MAKING NOTES
An early October morning, after a week of climatic storms and hail, the grapes – damp and glimmering – were gently hand-picked and sent to be crushed and pumped into stainless steel fermenters to envelope optimal fruit aromas. After two weeks of maceration, the skins and juice were separated and then sent to undergo Malolactic fermentation. The wine then spent another three months in American oak barrels to reach quintessential aging before filtration and bottling.
This wine is from the rolling hills of Spain, Leyenda de Castillo Rioja comes from two unique parts of the Rioja region: Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.
